For Filipinos wanting to renew their Philippine Passport in Dubai, or needing to upgrade to the ePassport, this is a post to guide you about the process. If your passport is about to expire, don’t wait further as you might get denied to travel.
You will have a hard time travelling back to the Philippines or to any other country if you will wait 6 months before your passport will expire. Better to process it as soon as possible to avoid inconvenience.
The PCG (Philippine Consulate General) embassy in Dubai is the office where you will process your passport. They have enlisted steps to take in order to process your application.
Steps to Apply for a Philippine Passport in Dubai / Renewal of Philippine Passport
Here are the steps for you to apply to renew your passport while you’re in the Emirates.
1. Book an appointment online. Schedule an appointment by going to the website and choosing the available dates. – http://dubaipcg.checkappointments.com/
2. On date of appointment or appearance, go to the Philippine Consulate Embassy located in Al Qusais (directions at the bottom of this post). Fill out the E-passport Application Form.
3. Proceed to Passport Processing Area [1]
4. Proceed to Cashier [2] to pay the fee. 240 AED.
5. Proceed to Passport Encoding Area [3] – this is where they will ask for your name, birthday, and other information needed to type in the new passport as well as your photo to be taken.
6. Proceed to Releasing Section on date of release [4]

During the date of the appointment, since you already have a scheduled appointment, it will take about 2 hours for everything to be finished. The staff will process your biometrics, taking of photo and entering of your data in your new passport.
Release of the ePassport
After going through the renewal process, you will wait for about 4-8 weeks for them to issue your passport. Don’t bother calling the embassy every time you want to inquire as they will tell you to wait for an announcement on the website. How to Get There:
Metro and Taxi seems to be the most convenient way to get to the Consulate embassy. Here are the directions to get there:
- Red line – Drop off at Emirates Station or Rashidiya Metro station. Take a taxi and pay about 20 Dirhams for the fare.
- Green Line – Drop off at Al Qusais Metro Station, and you can also take a taxicab as it might get very hot if you walk (around 3 blocks away)

Fix a Philippine consulate Dubai passport renewal appointment. You can visit the Philippine consulate Dubai office at Al Qusais and select an appointment as per your convenient time.
Renew Philippine passport online
You can also book an appointment online through the Facebook Page of Philippine Consulate Dubaiby sending them a message with your Full Name ( First, Middle, Last), Philippine passport book number (Passport Number), and Mobile Number, using the Message facility, not the comment box.
On the day of your appointment, go to the Consular section on time and you will receive a token number. Please remember to bring all the documents mentioned.
Document requirements for renewal of Philippine passport in dubai
- Old Philippine passport
- Photocopy of your Old Philippine Passport (First Page, Visa Page, and Last Page)
- Filled out Philippine passport application form
- You can fill the Philippine passport renewal form in advance or at the Consulate General. The form is available at the website or you can get it from the door attendant before entering the Consular Section.

- Copy of the Confirmation Email, (to confirm your appointment)
- Four passport-sized photos
- For married women, Marriage Contract (MC) in Security Paper issued by NSO or Certified True Copy issued by the Local Civil Registrar duly authenticated by NSO, and authenticated by the Department of Foreign Affairs in Manila.
Once your number is called, proceed to the processing section/encoding section.Your documents will be verified here. Your old Philippine passport will also have to be cancelled.The officer will encode your details to the computer, and you will be asked to verify the information on the passport enrollment application certificate. Make sure all the details are correct, as this information will be appearing on your passport. This document will have to be signed by you and since your signature is present, any correction of details later will be charged. Next, proceed to the cashier and pay the required fees. You will be handed a Claim stub, which is to be shown when you collect your renewed passport.
Philippine passport renewal processing time
The Philippine passport renewal time period will be around 4 weeks. Passports are released from Sundays through Thursdays, 3:00 to 5:00 pm and on Fridays, 2:00 to 4:00 pm.

Philippine Passport Cost
AED 240 (Renewal Fee) If you are sending a representative to collect your renewed Philippine passport, he should bring the following
- Claim stub
- Your old Philippine passport
- An authorization letter from you; and
- Photocopy of ID of authorized representative
Points to be noted
- If your passport is not claimed within six months, they will be sent back to the Department of Foreign Affairs in Manila for proper disposal.
- You also have the option to entrust a courier service to deliver your renewed Philippine passport. You can authorize them to handle your passport delivery after paying the required fees. LBC and Air21 charge Php100 pesos for deliveries, while 2Go charges Php99. It will take one day for the delivery after your passport has been released.

1. Driving
From Abu Dhabi
Take Sheikh Zayed Road/ Business Bay towards Dubai all the way to Rashidiya, the airport tunnel, and the road heading to Sharjah. Emerging from the airport tunnel, you are on Beirut St. On your left you’ll find the Al Qusais Police Station, on your right Emarat petrol station and Light cafeteria. Before reaching the stop light, turn right and another quick right turn (Beirut Extension No. 2). On your left is the Consulate General Compound (immediate villa for Consular and Notary Services, the second villa is the labor office).
From Sharjah and the N. Emirates
Once you reach the junction of Beirut St. and Amman St., head towards the airport tunnel take the upper lane before entering the tunnel on the lower lane. Once you reach the stop light, make a quick U-turn. On your left you’ll find the Al Qusais Police Station, on your right Emarat petrol station and Light cafeteria. Before reaching the stop light, turn right and another quick right turn (Beirut Extension No. 2). On your left is the Consulate General Compound (immediate villa for Consular and Notary Services, the second villa is the labor office).
2. By Metro
Metro Via Red Line
Drop off at Rashidiya or Emirates station, take a quick cab trip to Al Qusais. Most, if not all cabs know where the Consulate General is. Fare approximately (20 AED). The Consulate General will be on your right from Beirut St.
Metro Via Green Line
Drop off at Al Qusais station, approximately 3 blocks away, a bit of a walk.
By bus
From Bur Dubai Bus 33, from Satwa Bus 32C, from Deira Bus 13, drop off at Al Qusais Bus Stop across Al Qusais Police Station. From station, the Consulate is on your right side, approximately 50m walk.
How to Collect Your Passport in the Philippine Consulate in Dubai
The Philippine Consulate General (PCG) in Dubai is releasing the list of passports ready for collection in Dubai. The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) in Manila is delivering the passports on a regular basis and passport list is updated at the same time.
Can I authorise someone to collect my passport?
Yes. The passport owner should provide an Authorisation Letter, Old Passport, Original Receipt, Claim Stub and Valid ID.

You are requested to use Mozilla Firefox browser only in order to load the page properly.
Register first on the website before proceeding to book an appointment online.
Please note that booking more than one appointment in the system will result to cancellation of your reservation.

If you applied for a Philippine passport renewal and have already gone to the Consulate in Al Qusais for your appearance, all you need to do is wait from 6-8 weeks for your new passport to be issued to you.
Now the question is how will you know if your passport is ready for pick-up? It can easily be checked online rather than having to go to the Philippine embassy again or calling them just to clarify if your passport has been released.

To check if your passport has been released, you can simply visit this website and click the dates on the calendar. These are links where you can view the list of names whose passports are available for pick-up.
This page is updated on a regular basis once the government office has received the new batch of passports from DFA-Manila.

The Philippine Consulate General of Dubai and the Northern Emirates is located far from the city and you have to ride the metro train to Rashidiya and then hail a taxicab which to the location. As far as we have know, there’s no bus going to the Philippine Consulate in Dubai yet, so you have to pay about 20 Dirhams for the taxi fare.
